What you need to be considered
Trade programs (NC1 & NC2)
- Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent
- Non-school leavers considered on merit and experience
- Physically able to undertake workshop practice
- NC2 entry requires completion of NC1 in the same trade
Business & professional programs
- Trades (NC1–NC2) — completion of Grade 10 or equivalent
- Certificate IV — Grade 12, or Certificate III in the field
- Diploma — Grade 12, or Certificate IV in the field
- Working adults considered on relevant work experience

Document checklist
Have these ready as clear photographs or scans. Applications submitted without supporting documents take longer to assess.
- Grade 10 and/or Grade 12 certificate
- Statement of results or school transcript
- Birth certificate or national identification
- Passport-sized photograph
- Any prior certificates or trade qualifications
- Sponsorship or employer letter, if you are being sponsored
- A working email address and phone number
Four steps to your place at MTC
Applications are lodged through the MTC online admissions system. It takes most applicants about twenty minutes.
Choose your course
Browse the trade, business and online programs, check the duration, fees and study mode, and decide which course and level you are applying for.
Prepare your documents
Scan or photograph your school certificates, statement of results and identification before you start, so you can upload them without stopping.
Submit online
Complete the online application form with your personal and educational details, select your preferred course and study mode, upload your documents and submit.
Receive your offer
The admissions office assesses your application and publishes acceptance lists. Successful applicants receive an offer with an Offer ID and payment instructions.
